This is our fifth year of our Italian language journey!  How exciting!

At ST. MICHAEL The ARCHANGEL SCHOOL we incorporate the STEAM model of education.
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.  The vocabulary of all of these fields is based in Latin and because Italian is only one step removed from the Latin, Italian is a natural choice. 

The language structure of Latin is the springboard for grammar in English, Italian, French, Portuguese, Romanian and Spanish. An understanding of these basic rules facilitates language acquisition. 

Approximately 62 million people worldwide speak this lively and musical language as their native tongue.
As we increase our Italian vocabulary we expand our English vocabulary. There are many Italian words in our language....spaghetti, macaroni, fiasco, volcano, lava, influenza, ballerina, duo, magenta, zucchini, stiletto, propaganda, broccoli, graffiti and so many more.
